The Reserve at Lake Keowee Community Foundation welcomes Pan Harmonia to The Reserve at Lake Keowee during the week of June 15th-18th. Pan Harmonia is a professional chamber music company based in Asheville, NC and acclaimed for it’s imaginative programming and inclusive outreach. As a project-based organization, its ensembles change size and components depending on the needs of the music. Pan Harmonia just completed its 15th season, which offered more than 25 public concerts and outreach performances.
Flutist Kate Steinbeck and guitarist Amy Brucksch will be in residency, as they prepare repertoire for their next season. Kate and Amy relish the opportunity to step out of their day-to-day hectic and focus on their music in the serene setting of The Reserve at Lake Keowee. In fact, Pan Harmonia, formerly know as Keowee Chamber Music, began when its founding members met while playing a wedding on the shores of Lake Keowee in 1999!

Monday, June 15, 7:00 pm – OPEN REHEARSAL – Founders Hall. Learn insights into how a performance is first conceived and how the interpretive process evolves with special focus on “Snow Dreams,” by American composer Joan Tower
Tuesday, June 16, 7:00 pm LECTURE with DEMONSTRATION – Founders Hall. Ever wonder how fine instruments are manufactured? Meet flutemaker Chris Abell (who is also Kate’s husband) and learn about the world-renowned Abell wooden flutes and penny whistles. The evening will include music by JS Bach and Celtic Tunes.
Wednesday, June 17, 7:00 pm CONCERT – Founders Hall. Program to include Joan Tower’s “Snow Dreams” followed by Q & A.
Thursday, June 18, 11:00 am BRUNCH CONCERT – The Market – Light and Tasty Classical Offerings
